Calvin Hiatt Sr. lived in Hamilton County, Ind all but 10 years of his
life. He went in 1908 to North Dakota to raise wheat. After 10 years of very
hard winters and several crop failures he returned to Indiana in 1918. The
live-stock and farming equipment were moved by train to and from North Dakota.
He purchased the farm owned by his father, Charles Hiatt and it is now owned by
Calvin Hiatt Jr. It is a (Indiana) Homestead Farm having been owned by the
same family for over 100 years.
